The Story of Lowney Medical Associates

Lowney Medical Associates was founded by Dr. Charles and Irene Lowney after they renovated a former furniture store on 1234 Hyde Park Ave that had been destroyed by fire, where Dr. Charles served the Hyde Park community as a family medicine physician for over 60 years. Dr. Jay joined over two decades ago as an internal medicine physician, and in 2012, Dr. Mike joined as a family medicine physician. Together, the three worked side by side to care for generations of families in their community.

In 2025, Lowney Medical Associates officially became part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health network. Today, the practice serves hundreds of patients across the Greater Boston area and regularly provides clinical instruction for medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, and—most recently through our network—undergraduate students.
